My immediate senior sister used to control me a lot when we were little kids.
She normally tells me what to eat and what not to eat, then we agree on that and keep it that way.
As children from an Igbo home, especially Umubele Awka South; Ogbono Soup is one of our delicious delicacy. Any occasion you go in Umubele and you don’t see Ogbono Soup then you are not at the right place.
This soup was always prepared in my home then and everyone likes it, then one day my
sister Chinenye called me and told me that from today both of us will not be eating this soup in this house again.
She convinced me that the soup was catarrh, she was like; can’t you see how slippery it is? We won’t eat that rubbish again ok? Anytime I see you eating that soup I will quarrel with you. And i nodded in affirmation and that was it till today.
That I don’t eat this soup today is because of her and to think that she eats it now o but me I still can’t bring myself to enjoy the delicacy.
If no be childishness why would I allow myself to be tricked?
When I remember those convincing tricks she used on me I laugh.
Lesson: There are people who hates you, just because someone convinced them to by saying nasty things about you to them and they ignorantly believed because of their mindset. What you need to do about them is to not notice them, just like Draw Soup (Ogbono) didn’t notice I don’t like it, the soup is still one of the best delicacies in Nigeria.
Their thoughts and what they chose to believe about you without finding out the truth is their headaches and yours is to keep glowing💯.
As long as God has your back, you’re good.
